Welcome To

Oak Hill
Community Nursery

About Us

We focus on sustainable and timely plant starts and seeds — especially heirlooms, herbs, and locally native species.

Tennessee is home to nearly 3000 species of native plants. And, we have rich traditions of
heirloom seed saving from tomatoes to sorghum. Most of these are hard to find in bigger
nurseries, especially in West Tennessee.

At the same time, around 90% of our historic prairie grasslands and natural wetlands have been lost to more recent, unsustainable farming and agricultural practices.

Services

We can work together to build landscapes that nurture all of us.

Seed saving and seed swaps

We will host workshops and seed swap events. We aren’t just interested in your plants — we are also interested in your stories!

Heirloom vegetables and herbs

Our goal is to provide seasonal vegetable starts from artichokes through zucchini, and herbs from angelica to yarrow.

Native West Tennessee Plants

We will be a source for sustainably grown West Tennessee native plants for landscapes, wildlife, and education.

Oak Hill Farm has supported our family for seven generations. Now, we want to help sustain the surrounding communities for another seven — and beyond.

The climate is shifting

And, so are our rural landscapes. Get locally-adapted seeds and plants at the right time for planting here, in West Tennessee.

There are alternatives

We don’t have to be limited to mass-produced, sometimes invasive plants. Native plants are a proven alternative for people and wildlife.
